Wright County has completed an updated draft of its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) and is now seeking public feedback. Planning for natural disasters minimizes the impact of these events that can cause vast economic loss and personal hardship. Community feedback is vital to the success of the plan.

Winter Parking Notice – The City of Cokato’s Winter Parking rules will go into effect on November 15, 2022. No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle or permit it to stand on any street in the City between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on any day from November 15, 2022 through April 15, 2023. Reminder that the city ordinance regarding parking is available for review at city hall or on the city website on the City Code Page, under Title VII - Traffic Code: Ordinance #70.11.

The City of Cokato pool repairs have been completed (thanks to the contractor getting to it quickly!) and the pool will be open on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.
Cokato Pool Opening – Coming Soon The City of Cokato is working on getting the pool ready for Summer 2022. We have had some unexpected repairs in the pool that had to be made. The good news is the repairs have been made, the bad news the repaired area needs to remain dry until next week. The pool was scheduled to be open on June 6, 2022 however this may delay the pool opening to later in the week (no later than June 13, 2022). Thank you

The Wright County Office of Emergency Management is working with U-Spatial at the University of Minnesota Duluth to update the county’s Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP). The plan assesses the natural hazards that pose risk to the county, such as tornadoes, straight line winds, ice storms, blizzards, wildfire, flooding, and extreme temperatures and identifies ways to minimize the damage of future events. As the county works to update the plan, it wants to hear from the public.
The Central City Phase II project has been awarded to Landwehr Construction from St. Cloud, MN. The project is in progress and scheduled to be complete in November 2021.

Center City Road Project Phase II - The project has been approved by the City Council and a bid was accepted at the April 12th council meeting. Landwehr Construction from St. Cloud, MN will be contracted to complete Phase II of the project. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
